The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Twain, Mark. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Grosset & Dunlap. ISBN 978-0448424262

Huckleberry Finn's life is turned around in the novel before this entitled Tom Sawyer. When this novel begins, Huck has gotten a large sum of money and has been taken in by a widow. However, his nasty 'Pap' returns to ruin his life, once again. Huck takes up with a runaway slave and even stages his own death to escape his father. He has amazing adventures on 'The River' hopping from rafts to steamboats.

A truly well-written novel by one Mark Twain that has stood the test of time despite numerous challenges. This novel has been banned on more than one occasion and coupled with young boys who love a bit of mischievousness, this novel truly appeals to most tween boys. Mark Twain never misses his creative, pun-filled mark and he certainly did not when it comes to this novel.
